I hope this finds you well and weathering these strange times! While there is still quite a bit of uncertainty about next school year, I want you to know that we are working hard on our operating plans for our new location at Bethany/Ray Thomas Presbyterian Church. We know we’ll have to do some things differently to adapt to new regulations and keep our students and staff as safe as possible. Here is what we’re working on:
An enhanced health and safety protocol, using guidance from the CDC, the Department of Public Health, and Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. This includes limiting class sizes and group gatherings, increased daily sanitation procedures, social distancing measures to the extent possible in a preschool environment, routine health screening, and a tighter sick policy for students and staff.
Creative ways to continue sharing God’s love and teaching your precious children in the preschool setting, including outdoor “classrooms” and virtual chapel.
An Emergency Operations Plan, including remote learning platforms for our older students, should another school closure be warranted or to address specific family concerns.
Policy revisions to reflect changes, for both parents and staff.
In addition, we are proceeding with finalizing our county approvals for our new location and moving plans for July. We are closely monitoring decisions that Cobb County School System will be making in the coming weeks for any impact on our own operations and calendar.
This is a scary and uncertain time. We know there is anxiety surrounding returning to some normal activities, including preschool. Our desire is to operate as close to normal as possible – your children need to be in a safe and loving learning environment to continue laying the foundation for reaching their potential as a child of God and student. As a small school, we are uniquely positioned to continue providing as much learning and love as possible in this “new normal”. And we look forward to serving you for the 2020-21 school year.
Due to restrictions on group size, we have very few openings left for next school year. We will accommodate every child possible, while maintaining our health and safety protocols and adhering to state and local guidelines. If you have not already submitted your registration fee for next year, please do so as soon as possible to secure your child’s spot. If you have friends looking for a preschool spot, please send them our way.
If you have a unique concern about your child for next year, please reach out to me. We are happy to brainstorm how we can continue to serve you and deliver love and learning for your child. Lastly, we will be communicating frequently over the summer – on email, Facebook, and our website – and we invite you to stay in touch as well. Community is everything to us and it’s more important now than ever!
God bless you and keep you!
